Monitoring of a topsoil strip was undertaken at Lisnaward (Gowdystown Road Junction), County Down. Topsoil stripping works were carried out using a digger fitted with a toothless ditching bucket. The cutting measured 18m x 13m in size. Two modern drains were identified. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified in the cutting. The topsoil was reinstated and re-seeded under archaeological supervision.
