A watching brief was undertaken during peat removal at the site of an extension to a water treatment plant at Ardsbeg, Gortahork, County Donegal in January and February 2017. The archaeological works were undertaken in order to determine the nature, extent and location of any potential sub-surface features, finds or deposits of archaeological consequence. The peat measured up to 5m in depth in some parts. Nothing of archaeological significance was encountered on this site.
