Claudy 1, Site 10, was initially identified during test trenching for the A6 Dungiven-Drumahoe Road Dualling scheme. The material found at Claudy consisted of a post-built, 7m diameter roundhouse surrounded by a drainage gully. An area to the south of the roundhouse may have been screened or defined by a stake-hole-built wall. Radiocarbon dating has shown that the roundhouse can be placed at the very end of the Early Bronze Age period (1747 – 1625 BC).
