An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed construction of a residential development on lands 100m south of the Church of Ireland, Oldtown Road, Bellaghy.
This initial archaeological evaluation (Phase 1) consisted of the excavation of two test trenches along the foundations for house site 1 and a third, exploratory trench along the access road, near the eastern boundary of the site.
No archaeological deposits were identified during the course of the evaluation. Further evaluation for this site was conducted under licence AE/17/181.
