No archaeological features were uncovered during the topsoil stripping of the Phase 3 area of the Murnees Quarry extension that took place between 6 February and 15 March 2017. Fallen tree trunks and branches were found beneath the peat but none showed any signed of woodworking, and their roots were still present in the ground. One stray artefact was recovered, a small retouched flint flake. Across the site the peat depth varied from 0.12m to 2.2m.
