A systematic metal detection survey and archaeological monitoring of ground works associated with a development site at Ardbrack, Kinsale, Co. Cork was undertaken on 4 April 2017 on foot of a condition of planning permission. The development comprised the construction of a private dwelling house and associated site entrance. The metal detection survey produced two hits both of which were modern in date and retrieved from the topsoil. No finds which may relate to the military activity associated with the Kinsale Battlefield were detected. Furthermore, no finds or features of archaeological significance were uncovered on the site during monitoring.
