A test trench was mechancially excavated in a garage on a vacant site on Lough Road. There is an ice house extant in the south-western corner of the site and the garage is the suspected site of the remains of another backfilled ice house. The trench was excavated to a depth of 3m but the base of the feature was not revealed, however, the curvature of the wall exposed in the trench suggests that this is the subsurface remains of another ice house, the original roof of which was removed and rebuilt.
