Test excavation was required ahead of a single dwelling development c.60m to the north of a wedge tomb. In total 7 trenches were excavated covering the footprint of the development. Beteewn 0.4m and 0.5m of a light brown snady topsoil overlay orange boulder clay. There were also occasional outcrops of bedrock and peat was encountered near the western boundary of the site. No archaeology was found. The house was also redesigned to keep it below the line of site of the wedge tomb. I would also like to suggest that this is a cist rather than a wedge tomb.
