Test trenching was carried out on 14 April 2017, within the townland of Ballinluska, Co. Cork, as part of a wider Archaeological Impact Assessment ahead of the proposed construction of a single dwelling-house. The site is adjacent to CO099-034—-, an earthwork.
Five test trenches were excavated across the 0.2 Ha. site, testing all elements of the proposed design. The five trenches measured a total length of 80m. Artefactual evidence from the topsoil layer was exclusively 20th century in date and no archaeological deposits or other features were noted within the test trenches.
