Test trenching was carried out on 14 April 2017, within the townland of Ballinluska, Co. Cork, as part of a wider Archaeological Impact Assessment ahead of the proposed construction of a single dwelling-house. The site is adjacent to CO099-034----, an earthwork.
Five test trenches were excavated across the 0.2 Ha. site, testing all elements of the proposed design. The five trenches measured a total length of 80m. Artefactual evidence from the topsoil layer was exclusively 20th century in date and no archaeological deposits or other features were noted within the test trenches.
Nothing of archaeological significance was identified.
