Archaeological supervision of ground reduction was carried out in February and March 2017 in relation to planning conditions under Planning Policy Statement 6 Built Heritage 4 (PPS6:BH4) imposed upon a proposed micro Hydro-electric Scheme along the banks of the Crumlin River, Crumlin, Co. Antrim, granted under planning application LA03/20161/0207/F.
Monitoring was carried out over a period of 5 days between 7 February and 29 March 2017 and revealed that the development area consisted primarily of a deposit of modern infill overlying natural bedrock.
No archaeological or industrial heritage deposits were identified during the course of monitoring for ground reduction works.
