Phase 1 of the works was carried out ahead of the construction of a a cemetery and crematorium with associated access roads, car parking and landscaping on lands opposite 3 and 5 Lisburn Road, Moira. This consisted of the topsoil removal for the area of a proposed maintenance shed and also the entrance into the site. Topsoil was stripped using a back-acting machine fitted with a toothless bucket. No archaeological deposits were identified during the course of the evaluation.
