Ground reduction was undertaken within the footprint of the demolished building at 91–93 Victoria Street, and included excavation for three piles and a lift shaft. Insertion of beam trenches at ground level within the adjoining listed building at 95–97 Victoria Street was also subject to monitoring. Two segments of foundation walls dating to the mid-19th century were uncovered along the northern and southern boundaries of 91–93 Victoria Street. These walls likely correspond with buildings depicted on the 1st–3rd edition OS maps. Artefacts recovered included Black Ware and a clay pipe stem.
