Six test trenches measuring 193 linear metres were excavated across a carpark on Frederick Street in advance of development. A total of 38 brick and stone walls associated with the basements of the 19th-century Belfast Dispensary and Fever Hospital (later the Royal Victoria Hospital) were uncovered across the investigated area. A number of other walls associated with a 20th-century Cement and Tile Yard were also identified. The walls were recorded by means of written, drawn and photographic records. No other archaeological features were identified during the course of testing.
