An archaeological watching brief was carried out on ground adjacent to Moneynick Primary School and the Elver Inn. The site is located along the currant A6 road between Randalstown and Castledawson. The proposed development area is outside of the new road scheme; however, the site is to be used as a Topsoil Storage Area during construction of the new road. Fifteen test trenches were excavated across the site, nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
It is the opinion of the monitoring archaeologist that no further archaeological mitigation be required for this site.
