Given the proximity of Fort Robin and Castle Robin (ANT 064:014) it would have been reasonable to expect archaeological activity to occur nearby. The fact that nothing of archaeological interest was met may be due in part to the lay of the land at this location. It slopes very sharply to the south, seen clearly in the steep climb where the local roads meet the Mullaghglass Road in this locality. The steepness would have rendered the area less favourable in antiquity to human activity. The fact that such effort, in terms of the rubble infill, to level off the ground in modern times would tend to bear this out.
