Monitoring was carried out during June and July 2016 as part of the removal and reconstruction of a partition wall between No. 5 and No. 6 Michael Street. The wall being removed was late 19th century in date but had been recently underpinned. This concrete underpinning was up to 0.75m in depth and a total length of 19.4m of the wall was removed. The trench width reflected the scale of the previous underpinning and varied from 1.12–1.43m. Compacted yellowish brown clay was encountered at the base of the underpinning, throughout the length of the new foundation trench. Nothing of archaeological significance was found.
