An archaeological evaluation was carried out ahead of the proposed construction of a five-turbine wind farm at Crockdun, Co Tyrone. A number of recorded monuments were located within the perimeter of the proposed development site: TYR 027:029, TYR 036:023, TYR 036:028 and TYR 036:029.
Monitoring of all ground penetrating works was conducted for the proposed development. Ground reduction works were conducted using a back-acting machine fitted with a toothless bucket to the levels of naturally occurring subsoil or archaeological strata, whichever was highest.
NO archaeological deposits were identified during the course of the evaluation.
