Test-trenching for remains of curtain wall and angle towers produced the foundations of three angle towers at the south-west and north-east corners of the ward. No small finds were recovered.
Under the same licence small soak holes for drainage were dug at the east gable of the modern building in the west portion of the bawn and at the east and south-west sides of the solar panel building. Nothing of archaeological interest was found in the drain trenches or soak holes.
