A licence was sought in 2015 for the archaeological monitoring of ground works associated with the development of a GAA pitch and associated facilities at Ballydavid, Littleton, Co. Tipperary. The site is located in the Moycarkey-Borris GAA Club and is partially filled by an existing pitch and access road. A substantial ringfort (TN048-010) is located c. 30m west of the proposed development perimeter. Monitoring is being carried out as a condition of planning granted by Tipperary County Council (Ref.: 15/600207g
Ground works commenced in February 2016 and are ongoing. No archaeology found to date (May 2016). The summary will be updated once works are completed.
