Stage (iii) archaeological excavation was carried out at Drumderry 7 in advance of the N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin Road Development, Co. Sligo. The site was discovered during Stage (i) archaeological testing and was assessed during Stage (ii) Pre-Excavation Services (Registration Number E4627).
One possible charcoal-production pit was uncovered at Drumderry 7 consisting of a sub-oval pit with oxidisation present at the base and sides. The primary fill consisted mainly of charcoal chunks with occasional silt. The upper fill consisted of greyish-brown silty sand with occasional charcoal flecks.
