Stage (iii) archaeological excavation was carried out at Cloonmeenaghan 3 in advance of the N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin Road Development, Co. Sligo. The site was discovered during Stage (i) archaeological testing and was assessed during Stage (ii) Pre-Excavation Services (Registration Number E4627).
At Cloonymeenaghan 3 the remains of a dry stone foundation of a 19th-century structure and an adjacent post-medieval laneway were recorded.
The remains of the dry stone foundation of a rectangular structure were recorded at Cloonymeenaghan 3. No obvious entranceway was noted as the foundation was severely damaged from the demolition of the structure in the past.
The laneway ran in a north–south orientation and continued outside the limit of excavation to the north and south.
