A programme of archaeological testing was carried out at Finisklin, Co. Sligo on behalf of IDA Ireland on the 1st of February 2016. The proposed development was on a serviced, green field site located 2.1km to the west north west of Sligo town, near a roundabout at Sea Road. There are no recorded monuments within the proposal area, the nearest RMPs are both in excess of 300m to the SW and SE and are (RMPSL014-060) a fulacht fia (Rathedmond) and (RMP SL014-058) an enclosure (Knappagh More). Testing exposed a natural stratigraphy in the three of the five excavated trenches. Elsewhere there was evidence of modern disturbance with infilled ground to the east of the site. No finds or features indicative of archaeological potential were noted.
