The site is under pasture and no obvious features were visible above surface. The assessment was undertaken on 8 August 2016 following completion of a geophysical survey that had failed to identify any anomalies. Seven test trenches were excavated in the areas of proposed dwellings, garages, percolation systems and wells. The natural subsoil was exposed in all trenches at depths varying between 0.2–0.3m. No archaeological features were present and no finds were recovered.
