A burnt stone spread (F3) measuring 10m by 8m with a depth of 0.2m was identified at Sheean 1. A relatively shallow sub-rectangular earth-cut trough was revealed below the spread and it measured 1.5m by 2m and 45mm in depth. A number of soil and environmental samples were taken from both the burnt mound and from the fill of the trough. Radiocarbon analysis of any charcoal present should provide a date range for the use of this site.
