A burnt stone spread measuring 2.2m by 3m with a depth of 0.27m was identified at Drumneen 1. A number of modern drains and furrows were also exposed. The site appears to have been badly disturbed by agricultural activity. Apart from the spread no further archaeological features were identified. A soil sample was taken from the burnt mound. Radiocarbon analysis of any charcoal present should provide a date range for the use of this site. No finds were recovered from the archaeological features.
