A burnt stone spread measuring 7m north-south by 6.5m was identified at Drummindoo 1. The spread appears to have been disturbed and measured no more than 0.15m in depth. A sub-circular relatively shallow trough measuring approximately 1m in diameter was exposed below the spread. The trough was a simple earth-cut feature measuring 0.3m in maximum depth. A second smaller pit/trough measuring 0.8m in diameter was exposed further to the south-west and measured 0.25m in depth. Both troughs had straight cut sides and concave bases. A number of modern drains cut the south-west corner. No finds were recovered from the archaeological features. Soil and environmental samples were taken from the features. Radiocarbon analysis of any charcoal present should provide a date range for the use of this site.
