Pre-excavation cleaning at Dooleague 3 confirmed the presence of a pit (F03) which was roughly keyhole-shaped in plan. It measured 2.11m by 1.43m with a depth of 0.24m. Apart from some cultivation furrows and a possible drain, no other features were exposed. The pit appears to represent a charcoal-burning pit or similar feature. No other archaeological features were exposed. A total of 4 soil and environmental samples were taken from the site. Radiocarbon analysis of any charcoal present should provide a date range for the use of this site. No finds were recovered from the archaeological features.
