Two dark spreads were identified at Dooleague 2. They both contained sandstone fragments which combined measured 9.5m by 4.5m with a depth of 0.4m. No other features were exposed. The spreads were found on excavation not to represent archaeological activity with no evidence for charcoal throughout. Evidence for fallen tree branches along this valley bottom in and below the spreads suggests a natural origin. A linear cut to the east appears to represent a drain or a gully bringing water towards the stream from what may have been an old field boundary which still exists just outside the road take. A possible chert blade fragment and a second piece of worked chert were recovered from the site.
