An intact burnt stone mound was identified at Claggarnagh East 2/3. The mound continued outside the road-take with only about one third of the mound inside the fenceline available for excavation. A number of more recent stone drains were also exposed. The burnt stone spread (F03) measured 8.5m in length by 4.5m in width and survived to a maximum height of 0.6m. Only the section inside the road-take was excavated. No features were exposed below the spread and it is possible that a trough or similar features survive outside the road-take. The remaining features on the site were confirmed as representing modern or tree root activity. No finds were recovered from this site.

Post-excavation analysis is ongoing and it is hoped to obtain dating evidence from radiocarbon analysis of charcoal samples recovered.
