Pre-development testing of a site at Glinsk townland, County Mayo, was carried out on 21 March 2016. The development consisted of the construction of a dwelling house, garage and waste-water treatment system. The testing was required as part of a Further Information Request by Mayo County Council due to the proximity to an enclosure (MA097-007) located in the next field. Five test trenches were excavated (by machine) on the site, which was located in a field of pasture. The trenches measured 19.5m, 29.5m, 25.3m, 8m and 17.3m long respectively; 1.6-1.8m wide and 10-700mm deep. Below the topsoil was natural subsoils and bedrock. A water-main and a land drain crossed one of the trenches. One sherd of modern pottery was the only artefact recovered. Nothing of archaeological significance was in evidence.
