Cooley Kickhams GFC was granted planning permission for a new playing pitch and associated site works. Monitoring of ground works was required in the planning grant.
The new pitch was built to the north-west of the existing pitch. LH008-067, classified as an ‘earthwork’, lies to the south of the location of the new pitch.
Soil-stripping was carried out over a period of five days. A tracked machine fitted with a grading bucket was used for the stripping which was carried out over nearly the entire area of two fields. Nothing was revealed during soil stripping other than the remains of a drain along the north-eastern boundary and evidence for burning of vegetation in the west end of the eastern field.
