An assessment was carried out at the site of a proposed residential development at lands in Johnstown, Naas, Co. Kildare. The site covers an approximate area of 2.34ha and is located c. 0.5km south of Johnstown on a site between two recently-constructed housing estates. The site itself contains no RMP sites but is situated just to the north of an Enclosure KD019-060 (60m) and approximately 200m south of Palmerstown Church and Graveyard in Johnstown village KD019-014001-4. A geophysical survey of the site was carried out followed by targeted test trenching. A total of 11 trenches (850 linear metres) were mechanically excavated across the site under archaeological supervision. No archaeological material was recorded in any of the trenches.
