Test excavations were undertaken on a green field site proposed for a car park extension in Dingle. Five trenches were opened across the site and showed that the lands had been infilled with up to 0.7m of topsoil and stone. Amongst the stone fill were six pieces of carved and dressed limestone which are likely to have come from the walls, doorway and arch of an ecclesiastical building or church of indeterminate date. Part of the original access road to Farranakilla House was also uncovered. No in situ features or strata of archaeological interest were recorded.
