Six trial trenches were excavated at the site of a proposed housing development at Rinn na Mara townland, Barna, Co. Galway, over a two-day period from 25 May, 2016. A large amount of modern infill had been deposited in low ground at the south-eastern end of the site. No features or finds of archaeological significance was discovered during the works.
