Six trial trenches were excavated at the site of a proposed housing development to the west of a graveyard in the village of Barna, Co. Galway. Ground conditions ranged from rocky to the east of the site, falling to boggy ground to the west. Nothing of archaeological significance was discovered during the two days of testing.
