Monitoring of groundworks for the Connemara Visitor Centre adjacent to Pearse's Cottage, National Monument, were carried out from 18 May 2015 to 22 January 2016, for a total of forty-two days. Blanket bog was removed to bedrock over the site to a maximum depth of 3m. There were no features or finds of archaeological significance discovered during the works.
