Monitoring was carried out for ground works associated with the extension of an existing water treatment facility at Leenaun, County Galway. Monitoring followed on from a previous desktop assessment carried out by Price & Madigan (2009) and monitoring of the first phase of works on site (Licence Ref.: 09E0346), where nothing of significance was identified. Monitoring took one day to complete. No features or deposits of archaeological potential were noted during the course of works. No further archaeological mitigation is deemed to be necessary in association with the water treatment site.
