The site (for a single private dwelling) is adjacent to the junction of Balheary Avenue and the R108 road (to Naul). The area immediately to the west was test trenched in May 2014 (2014:108) with negative results; the house site was then moved 60m to the east which is the area now subject to test trenching.
Testing was undertaken in Sept 2016. Three trenches totaling 115 linear meters were excavated. No archaeological features or artefacts recorded at the site.
