The site has already been developed and the school is under construction. At the time of the assessment the ground appeared to have been levelled and approximately 0.6-0.8m of soil had been removed across much of the site. The only part of the site that had not been stripped was a section to the east in the area of a proposed attenuation tank. Therefore this was the area of the site that was archaeologically tested in line with a method statement submitted and approved by Dublin City Council and the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
Excavation of the test trench failed to identify any archaeology in the eastern part of the site and confirmed that the natural boulder clay survived at just 0.2m below current ground level. No further archaeological information can be recovered from this site.
