Testing was undertaken in part preparation of an Archaeological Impact Assessment with respect to construction of ten dwellings. The site is situated on the western side of the northern extent of Blakestown Road, close to its junction with Ashfield Park. The site of a Designed Landscape - tree-ring (DU013-011) is located c. 70m to the north-east.
A total of eight test trenches, of varying lengths and orientations, were excavated within the boundaries of the site, the locations of which were largely determined by the existing topographical nature of the site. No subsurface remains of archaeological interest or potential were uncovered and it was suggested that no further archaeological interventions were required.
