A test excavation was undertaken in advance of the construction of two dwelling houses to the rear of existing street fronting properties at 8–11 Travers St on the south bank of the River Lee. The site is bounded to the west and north by the church and graveyard of St Nicholas (CC074-04001-2). A total of six test trenches were placed across the footprint of the two proposed houses. Modern infill layers were exposed in all of the trenches and no features or finds of archaeological merit were uncovered.
