The development consists of the construction of a shed for the storage of motor vehicles with ancillary vehicle wash area and associated site entrance. The development site is located to the south of a Military Camp (CO012-101) which extends over the townlands of Mansfields Land, Spital-Land, Farranarouga South, Abbey-Lands, Farranarouga North, and Camphill. Rathvallikeen is not included in the aforementioned townlands however. The metal detection survey was undertaken on 2 June 2016 and the monitoring was undertaken on the 9 and 10 June 2016.
The metal detection survey produced a number of hits all of which were modern in date. No finds which may relate to the military camp site some 300m to the north were detected. Furthermore, no finds or features of archaeological significance were uncovered on the site during monitoring.
