Test excavation was carried out on an extension to a stone quarry at Carrgboy, Terelton, Co Cork. A total of 5 trenches were excavated in a field of improved grazing to the south of the quarry pit. Between 0.2m and 0.3m of a mid-brown topsoil overlay a stony orange boulder clay and bedrock. A sixth trench was opened to the west in a small, boggy field where c. 0.4m of a peaty topsoil overlay a white, stony boulder clay. No archaeological features or finds noted.
