Test trenching was undertaken as part of conservation works at Clonlea Church. The purpose of the testing was to ascertain the condition and depth of the church's west wall foundation in advance of stabilisation works proposed. Two trenches were excavated by hand at the base of the west wall to determine extent of foundations. The wall was drawn and photographically recorded prior to the stabilisations works being undertaken. These works were monitored. No new archaeological features were discovered during the works.
