2016:067 - CLONMONEY SOUTH, Clare

Monitoring of topsoil stripping/site preparation excavation works associated with the upgrading of the Shannon WWTP, Clonmoney South, Shannon, Co. Clare was undertaken. The work was carried out in compliance with a requirement of the Civil Works Contact document associated with the project and prepared by Irish Water. There are no previously Recorded Monuments located within, or in the immediate environs of the development site and no surface traces of archaeological potential were noted by the surface reconnaissance survey undertaken in advance of the commencement of works. No subsurface features or deposits of archaeological interest and/or potential were uncovered, and no artefacts of archaeological interest were recovered during the course of the works.
