Monitoring under minsiterial consent was undertaken during conservation works at St John’s Graveyard in Wexford. The works involved the importation of topsoil to counteract erosion problems in the graveyard. No artefacts were removed from the graveyard prior to the spreading of the new soil, which was then seeded with grass. A medieval window fragment was recovered from the surface of the graveyard and placed in a safe position. The church and graveyard of St John’s date to the early 13th century and was a Knights Hospitaller foundation. There is a sarchophagus in the graveyard and the church does not survive.
