Testing was undertaken to the rear of a protected structure situated within Irishtown, a medieval suburb of the town of New Ross. Several trenches were excavated and no features of archaeological interest were noted. The boundary wall of the property is likely to date to the construction of the dwelling but was not impacted upon by the development.
