An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the proposed construction of a wind farm at Tievenameenta near Killeter in County Tyrone. Two recorded archaeological sites are located within the boundaries of the wind farm site. These sites are a booley hut, TYR 023:041, and the former location of a cairn, TYR 023:034, which are located at the north extent of the wind farm.
Groundworks associated with the geotechnical investigations included a borehole and three trial pits dug within the area of each turbine base with a number of further trial pits dug within the area of each hard standing. Each trial pit was excavated under archaeological supervision with a total of 74 trial pits excavated during the geotechnical investigations.
