Archaeological testing was carried out at the site of a proposed electrical substation in the townland of Gort, Ballygawley, Co. Tyrone. No recorded archaeological sites were located within the immediate vicinity of site however it was recommended that archaeological testing be carried out to assess the potential for previously unknown subsurface archaeological remains.
A total of six trenches were excavated across the footprint of the site. No structures or features of archaeological significance were identified within the trenches and as such no further archaeological mitigation was recommended.
