A Ministerial Consent was sought to undertake monitoring of ground works in association with the South Tipperary Water Conservation Project. The project area encompasses the surrounding suburbs of Fethard Town, inside of the area of archaeological potential and outside of the zone of constraint relating to the National Monument which is the walled town of Fethard (TS 070-040). These works involve archaeological hand excavation of trenches in advance of pipelaying and monitoring.
A separate licence 15E0083 has been granted to monitor works outside of the walled town.
Works are ongoing. An updated bulletin will be submitted on completion.
